Tiki Gardens was a legendary Polynesian theme park located in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. Frank and Jo Byars created the park, which opened in 1964. Tiki Gardens sat on more than twelve acres. Its attractions included jungle trails, lagoons, Trader Frank's Restaurant, Hawaiian Queens and 10 Polynesian themed gift shops populated by exotic birds & monkeys, all watched over by towering Tikis.
Visitors were offered a jungle ride in The Tiki tour boat. And the torch lighting ritual was performed every evening at twilight. Tiki Gardens was closed in the 80’s and, as often happens, “they paved paradise and put up a parking lot”.
