This iconic blue swordfish was a tiki icon in Sunset Beach for decades. Originally it was built for Sam's Seafood. Sam's opened in the 1920's and had a full-blown Polynesian (tiki) remodel in 1959, which also included this amazing neon swordfish sign (Back then it said "Sam's" on it). In 2009 Don the Beachcomber took over the old Sam's location and the rest is tiki history. It was the last Don's location in California. The first opened in 1933 in Hollywood. Donn Beach created many of the beloved tiki drinks we enjoy today like the Zombie, Navy Grog, 151 Swizzle and more. Sadly, Don's closed its doors April 15th, 2018.
Unfortunately this landmark sign was taken down in 2021. We have it on good word that the sign is being restored and is slated to be used at a new future Tiki bar. You can show some love for this enchanting place with this limited edition hard enamel lapel pin. Read more in our blog.
The pin measures 1.75 inches wide and features a black rubber clutch. The second edition features the view from the south side and is facing left - makes a great pair with our first edition pin if you were lucky enough to get one! 2nd edition of 400 pins.
